Dover Football believes student athletes should not be deterred from playing football due to financial constraints on the family. If a child expresses an interest in the sport and commits to participate in all league activities (practices, games, fund raising and the end-of-season banquet) and the parent/guardian commits to the volunteer requirements (all parents/guardians are required to perform one or more volunteer activities), consider applying for the Dover Football Scholarship (DFS).
Depending on need, the DFS covers a portion, and in some cases all, of the registration fee (must meet financial eligibility requirements). The player would only need to obtain proper footwear and athletic supporter (including cup) in order to play. Due to the sensitivity/nature of this scholarship and the limited funds available, all required paperwork will need to be included in order to determine the needs of each applicant. Failure to submit the necessary documents may result in the application being put aside in favor of those applicants with all paperwork or being rejected altogether. All applicants will be notified of the outcome, regardless of the determination made and, for the sake of privacy/security, no conversations will take place between the league's board members outside of the normal communication process (scheduled meetings, email and phone calls). None of the information provided in the application will be communicated to any non-current board member, including coaches, officials, volunteers, parents/guardians and players. If you would like to receive more information, please send an email message to the Board of Directors. | SPONSORS
