The Jets and Chiefs kicked off the 2010 season in dramatic fashion as the game went down to the wire and was decided on the last play of the game. The Jets, trying to regroup from a winless 2009 season, jumped out to an early 6-0 lead on a nice touchdown run by Blake Parmer. The Jets 2 point conversion was successful as once again Blake Parmer carried the ball across the goal line and the score stood at 8-0 in the Jets favor until late in the game. The Chiefs showed their fight and the team came alive in the 4th Quarter, scoring a touchdown on a Ty Vitko run with less than 5 seconds remaining in the game. The Chiefs 2 point conversion attempt failed and the final score of the season opening thriller was 8-6 in favor of the Jets. Jacob Gellerson and Sean Gallipo were stalwarts on defense for the Chiefs throughout the game, and Michael Brun, Ryan Pottier and Colin Serra helped to anchor the Jets defense. Andral Lafleur and Trevor Cirinna also helped spark the Jets offense. |

The Oyster River Cats opened their season with a two touchdown win over the Giants. Oyster River touchdowns were scored by Justin Grohndal and Ben Abladian. Both 2 point conversion attempts failed. A defensive highlight for Oyster River was an interception by Jonathan Briggs. The Giants played tough throughout the game but could not push the ball across the goal line. The Giants had some nice runs by Ethan Jennison, Spencer Murphy and Bradley Plodzik throughout the game. Cody Sheehan helped anchor the defense for the Giants and Tyler Millette of the Giants made a nice tackle saving a touchdown from being scored on a long run by Cameron Richard-Storace. Jaguars vs. Raiders |
Jaguars win 16-2 |

The Jaguars opened their inaugural season with a strong showing against the Raiders, who went undefeated during the 2009 season. The Jaguars had a nice long touchdown run by John Wertz to put the Jags on the board. The Jags Kyle Ferriero converted the 2 point conversion attempt and led 8-0. The next score was the result of a safety as the Raiders defense stuffed the Jaguars in their own end zone and this pumped some new life into the team. However, a Luke McCusker to Jack Dalton touchdown pass sealed the win and the subsequent 2 point conversion by Kyle Ferriero made the final score 16-2 with the Jaguars coming out as victors. The Raiders Luc Normandeau had some nice runs and the Raiders defense was anchored by Aaron Oroh. Peter Ciotti and Bailey Beakes were defensive stars for the Jags. |
